I hadn’t dreamt about my dad at all until today. During my nap he was in my dream and it felt so real. Everything I remember about him was there like he really was here in my room kissing my forehead and telling me that he came to take care of me and watch over us because mom wasn’t home yet. His loud voice that sounds like he’s yelling when in reality it’s just the way he is was there, I HEARD IT. For some reason, I could always tell which family member was coming home by the way their keys made noise and I heard my dad’s keys in my dream. The dream didn’t last that long but I remember everything so vividly. What’s weird was I couldn’t open my eyes at all, as in my eyes were closed in the dream but I felt him touch me and kiss my forehead. He told me that it’s okay that I couldn’t see him and to just go back to sleep. I really hope that wasn’t just my head creating this alternate universe where my dad is still alive and healthy. I really really want to believe that he actually came to see me even if it was just for a few seconds. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of my dad and all the things that I wish I could take back. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of everything he’s going to miss out in my sisters’ and my lives. It honestly haunts me every single day. Yeah there were great amazing memories, but somehow the bad ones always outweigh the good in certain situations. I’ve been trying so hard to think positively and live life normally but it’s too hard. I guess I should take this dream as a reminder that my dad IS here and watching over me and that he’ll always be there for us but I really wish he was still here.
